Meline Kevorkian, NSU Expert on Bullying Prevention, is a Featured Author at Annual LitLIVE! Event – Sat. March 21
FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – Renowned bullying prevention and school safety expert, Meline Kevorkian, Ed.D., will be one of the featured authors at LitLIVE!, part of the 21st edition of Literary Feast.
LitLIVE! will bring 24 acclaimed authors to Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Alvin Sherman Library, Research and Information Technology Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 21. Authors will meet thousands of book lovers throughout the day at panel discussions, lectures, book sales and signings at the Alvin Sherman Library, 3301 College Ave. in Davie. The event is free and open to the public.
This year’s program highlights include Meline Kevorkian, Ed.D., Executive Director of Academic Review at NSU. Kevorkian is an expert on bullying, and is the author of several books for parents and educators, including 101 Facts About Bullying: What Everyone Should Know.
According to the U.S. Justice Department, one in four children is bullied every day. As a result, children may suffer from anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem that could result in suicidal thoughts or behaviors.
Enter Kevorkian, who has dedicated nearly two decades of her teaching career to addressing bullying and researching solutions. Kevorkian’s 101 Facts About Bullying breaksdown what research says about bullying and its effects, offering ideas for what can and should be done to minimize or reduce bullying behavior.
In 101 Facts About Bullying, she addresses “cyber bullying,” media and video violence, the legal ramifications of bullying, and debunks myth while uncloaking the facts about bullying and its prevention.
