Marjory Stoneman Douglas Students Visit NSU’s Holocaust Reflection and Resource Center
Marjory Stoneman Douglas students recently toured Nova Southeastern University’s Craig and Barbara Weiner Holocaust Reflection and Resource Center as part of their Holocaust History class taught by Mrs. Ivy Schamis. During the class trip, the students received a personal tour from Craig Weiner, who is passionate about teaching current and future generations about the importance of having greater respect for one another and greater tolerance for our fellow human kind through Holocaust education.
CBS Miami followed the students around as they toured the center. Following the tour, CBS Miami sat down with Mrs. Schamis and several students who were in class on February 14 to discuss the parallels between the Holocaust and the Parkland shooting.
