For students who have responsibilities, a traditional college scenario is not an option, but getting a degree still is. For them, getting an online degree seems to be more appealing. Online learning has made a big change in the traditional education system and opened great opportunities for everyone who wants to learn something.
Universities in Florida are trying to increase online education and they are experiencing significant growth. “Online education is a natural evolution of technology, now we are able to do this. And some people prefer to learn at a distance,” said Michael Simonson, Ph.D., director of Instructional Technology and Distance Education at NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education. “The research is clear that the growth of online education is impacting certain groups of learners positively.”
At NSU, distance education includes faculty and student discussion forums with threaded bulletin boards, real-time electronic classrooms with graphical presentations and audio, and access to the Electronic Library and online databases.
