Learn How to Record Your Dreams & Use Them to Create Stories during Two-Part Teen Journaling Workshop at NSU’s Library

FT. LAUDERDALE (DAVIE), FLA.— Ever had a dream that you thought would make an amazing short story or novel? Then come to Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center to learn how to write stories from your dreams during a special two-part workshop for teens.

The workshop will feature NSU’s Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences writing instructor, Kate Ann Heidelbach. Attending both sessions is not mandatory to participate, though it is recommended. The sessions will include:

  • Dream Writing for Teens (Ages 14-18),
    Part 1: Friday, Jan. 22 from 6 – 7:30 p.m., FREE
Professor Heidelbach will discuss various writing techniques on how to translate your dreams into stories, filling in the gaps that are often missing once you wake up. Then, over the next week you will keep a dream journal where you can record your visions and brainstorm ideas.
  • Dream Writing for Teens (Ages 14-18),
    Part 2: Friday, Jan. 29 from 6 – 7:30 p.m., FREE
Professor Heidelbach will review your dream journals as a group and teach you how to get started with the writing process. Whether you write for fun or want to pursue a career in writing, these interactive workshops will help you explore your creativity.

Both portions of the two-part workshop will take place at the Alvin Sherman Library on NSU’s main campus at 3301 College Ave. in Davie.
