Huizenga Business School Executive Named President of Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra
FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. –
J. Preston Jones, D.B.A., Executive Associate Dean of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University (Nova), has been named President of the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra, the symphony announced this week.
Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra, America’s Mentoring Orchestra, announced their new Board of Directors for the 2011-2012 Season, and the installation of J. Preston Jones, D.B.A., as President. Jones is one of those few professionals who can claim experience in three of the critical areas that contribute directly to a nation’s growth and development – manufacturing, commerce and education.
Jones received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, and earned his M.B.A. and Doctor of Business Administration at Nova Southeastern University. He has taught courses and presented seminars in Marketing Management, Entrepreneurship, Productivity Improvement and Leadership. He has presented papers and conducted seminars in France, Japan, Bahamas, and Jamaica.
Former Florida Governor, Charlie Christ appointed Jones to the Florida Technology, Research and Scholarship Board. He also serves as board member of the Jack and Jill Children’s Center; Florida Bar Association Citizens Council; and Sigma Beta Delta International Society, and he is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Lambda Chapter.
Dr. Lynn Luce, founder of Ars Flores, will remain as Artistic Director. As Nova’s Orchestra in Residence, Ars Flores recently relocated to Nova’s campus at 3416-B S. University Drive at University Park Plaza, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33314.
Ars Flores has an exciting, new, collaborative concert program planned for the 2011-2012 Season in Broward and Dade counties, including free Music for Munchkins concerts.
