Graduate of NSU’s Business School Appointed Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States
Audrey Marks earned M.B.A. from NSU in 1991, begins ambassadorship in May
FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – Audrey Marks, who earned a Master of Business Administration degree in 1991 from Nova Southeastern University’s H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, was recently appointed Jamaica’s ambassador to the United States.
Marks is the founder of Paymaster Jamaica, the country’s first multi-payment agency. A career entrepreneur, Marks also started and operated six previous businesses, including a 100-acre banana exporting farm, a transportation company, and a real estate sales and development company. She has also managed a Venture Capital Company with diverse investments including manufacturing, travel and entertainment activities.
At a national level, Marks is the deputy chairman of the Urban Development Company (UDC), and is on the board of directors of RBTT Securities Jamaica limited, Jamaica Trade and Investment Company Limited, National Health Fund and the University of the West Indies (Mona School of Business) as well as a number of other private and public sector bodies.
Jamaica’s Foreign Minister Ken Baugh formally announced the appointment of Marks as Jamaica’s new ambassador-designate to the U.S. on March 29. Marks will begin serving as ambassador in May. To view the announcement, click here.
