FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – A one-week summer camp in entrepreneurship to give high school students knowledge on starting a business and maintaining ethical business practices is being offered for the first time at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University.
The Entrepreneurship Summer Camp and Personal Enrichment program (E.S.C.A.P.E) is scheduled for July 26-30 at the Huizenga School on NSU’s main campus. Each day of the camp will include lectures by NSU business professors and South Florida business leaders, lively discussions, and interactive exercises. Topics include:
- Day 1: Introduction to entrepreneurship; Creativity and innovation
- Day 2: Developing a business plan
- Day 3: Formulating a marketing plan
- Day 4: Financial planning
- Day 5: Leadership skills, business etiquette, and presentation of business plans to real CEOs
E.S.C.A.P.E is open to highly motivated students who will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors in the fall of 2010, or will graduate this school year, and have a passion for business and wish to learn more about entrepreneurship.
“Our goal is to educate as well as inspire the young entrepreneur as we take them through the keys steps of starting a business.” said Janet Goldstein, CPA, MBA, an associate director at the Huizenga School. “Participants will have the unique opportunity of learning from distinguished college professors, current entrepreneur students, and successful entrepreneurs from our community.”
E.S.C.A.P.E campers will also experience college life on NSU’s 300-acre main campus.
The cost of the camp is $500, which includes tuition, all materials, lunch and refreshment breaks daily. The deadline to apply is June 1.
