Experience Folklore with the Rambling Strings Band & an Interactive Puppet Show at NSU’s Library, as Ferro Series Continues

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center will continue its Ferro Fine Arts Series in 2010 with an exciting array of performances designed to give children, families and art enthusiasts alike a fun interactive look at the fine arts.

Presented by the Charles P. Ferro Foundation, all events are FREE and open to the public and will be held in the Alvin Sherman Library on NSU’s main campus, at 3301 College Ave. in Davie. Upcoming events include:

  • Ferro Series Presents…
    Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling Strings Band: The Ballad of America

    Saturday, Jan. 16 from 2-3 p.m. (All ages with caregiver)
    Have fun learning about American history and folklore at this interactive traditional music concert for children of all ages. Sing along to old favorites such as Yankee Doodle, Skip to My Lou, and This Land is Your Land. Listen to fascinating stories about Abraham Lincoln, life on the Mississippi and the history of the United States of America.
  • Ferro Series Presents…
    Puppets to Go with Bob Nathanson’s Frog Prince: A Puppet Love Story
    Saturday, Feb. 13 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. (All ages with caregiver)
    Watch a great show and learn about the ancient art of puppetry with master puppeteer Bob Nathanson. See how different types of puppets such as hand, rod, marionette, and shadow puppets are brought to life during Frog Prince: A Puppet Love Story. Make your own frog prince or princess puppet after the show!
