Enroll Now for Third Annual Entrepreneurship Summer Camp
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Nova Southeastern University’s H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship announced that it will host the annual entrepreneurship summer camp for high school students on July 22-26, 2013.
The Entrepreneurship Summer Camp and Personal Enrichment (E.S.C.A.P.E) program is designed to give high school students who have a passion for business an understanding of and appreciation for the process of starting a business and maintaining ethical business practices. E.S.C.A.P.E is open to highly motivated high school students who wish to learn more about entrepreneurship.
Each day is packed with lectures from NSU professors and South Florida business leaders, lively discussions, and interactive exercises. Topics include:
Day 1: Introduction to entrepreneurship
Day 2: Developing a business plan
Day 3: Formulating a marketing plan
Day 4: Financial planning
Day 5: Presentation of business plans to real CEOs
“Our goal is to educate as well as inspire the young entrepreneur as we take them through the key steps of starting a business,” said Janet Goldstein, CPA, MBA, director for the camp. “Participants will have the unique opportunity of learning from distinguished college professors and successful entrepreneurs from our community.”
Here’s what past participants had to say about the camp:
“…so many of the valuable skills I learned are actually used in every-day situations! I couldn’t have asked for a more hands-on and applicable program!”
– Blake Bierman
“I got an idea of the legalities and all the work it will actually take…I developed a mission statement…I’m learning to market a little more.”
– Kai Phillips
“What this camp did for me was teach me all about marketing and finance in a way that made it fun and easy for all of us to understand.” – Jade Lopez
E.S.C.A.P.E. campers get a sense of college life when they visit the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, the Don Taft University Center, and tour the campus of Nova Southeastern University.
