Total Wine’s arrival has merchants concerned

Robert C. Preziosi, D.P.A., chairman of the Department of Management at Nova Southeastern University’s School of Business, said history shows that small businesses can survive in the face of competition from big corporations, provided they adapt to the new environment.

“I remember seeing little hardware stores stay in business. Home Depot couldn’t put them out of business,” he said. “People like price, but there are other things. People also like convenience, and they like speed. And they like people to be nice.”
