“Count Down to the Oscars” with a Special Hollywood Insider During FREE Events at NSU Library – Feb. 6 & 13

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – Root for your favorite films and learn how the Academy Awards came to be Hollywood’s most glamorous night during a series of Count Down to the Oscars events at Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center.

All events are FREE and open to the public, and each will feature Hollywood insider Ron Castell, formerly of Time Warner, Blockbuster Entertainment, and the Spelling Entertainment Group. Castell is also chair of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.

The red carpet-flavored events include:

  • Oscar and How He Got That Way
    Sunday, Feb. 6 from 2-4 p.m.

  • Oscar, Does He Need a Makeover? & Screening of the film Mildred Pierce starring Joan Crawford
    Sunday, Feb. 13 from 2-4 p.m.

All events in the Count Down to the Oscars series will be held in the Knight Auditorium of NSU’s Carl DeSantis Building, which is located on NSU’s main campus at 3301 College Ave. in Davie.

About the Library: The Alvin Sherman Library is a joint-use facility, which is the result of an innovative agreement between NSU and the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. The five-story Library, Research, and Information Technology Center is Florida’s largest library building at 325,000 square feet.
