Business Plan Challenge overall winner: Kitchen Porter Tech (Miami Herald)
While Robert Vasquez spent more than a decade working in the restaurant industry and eventually running his own franchises, he also was turning up the heat on his next business idea.
Vasquez and his team developed Kitchen Porter Tech, named after the “kitchen porter” whose job is organizing the kitchen and making life easier for the chef. Kitchen Porter Tech is a Web-based application that connects restaurateurs, franchisors, franchisees, management, staff, vendors and customers through a centralized location that’s always open. This lets a restaurateur monitor and control back-office operations from any place at any time.
Vasquez’s plan for Kitchen Porter Tech not only won first place in the Business Plan Challenge Community Track but it also was the Challenge Champion.
Vasquez graduated from Nova Southeastern University in business management.
