University School Students Craft, Create, and Build Worlds‎

University School - MinecraftMinecraft, a class where Lower School students explore the intensely creative video game in a completely safe and controlled environment, introduces engineering skills which students use to craft, create, and build a 3D world. In the game’s creative mode, science and technology come together and players learn to build vibrant, innovative, and interactive structures from scratch. Among the functional skills learned are circuitry, timing, pistons, and wiring, which are subsequently implemented in the creation of virtual electronic devices including clock timers and secret doors fitted with key combination locks. Minecraft teaches students digital skills including understanding how to interact with people online and being technologically proficient.
