University School of NSU’s 21st Annual “Main Event” Raises $320,000 to Support Students

For this year’s 21st Annual University School of NSU “Main Event” fundraiser, participants were invited to “Join the Family” by making a lasting educational contribution to their child’s future.

The family-themed event took place on Feb. 8 at Martorano’s at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and featured dinner, an open bar, silent and live auctions, and musical entertainment throughout the night. All proceeds from the festive evening benefit University School and its pre-k through 12th grade students.

In an exciting twist to this year’s event, the silent auction began early with a special online bidding option for such prizes as:

•    A 50 percent tuition raffle,
•    A New England Patriot’s autographed helmet,
•    Miami Marlins deluxe fan packages,
•    A trip to California to meet American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez and stay for the show,
•    A Jay Leno package that included airfare and tickets to his show,
•    And several vacation packages such as one featuring a chartered yacht in the Grand Cayman Islands.

The lucky bidders left the “Join the Family” themed event with the knowledge that their generosity raised more than $320,000 to help fund educational opportunities for students at one of South Florida’s premier private preparatory schools.
