University School Lower School Students Participate in Science Fair

This year’s University School Lower School Science Fair submissions were unique and gave students in grades 4 and 5 a chance to explore the inner workings of light bulbs and the melting properties of chocolate and ice, among other topics.

Students planned and researched their topics, carefully developed hypotheses, and tested their experiments. Congratulations to all our winners and participants.

Fourth Grade Projects included:

  • Root of the Problem (1st Place): Samuel Bennett, Matthew Cohen, Grant Leff, Ally Lowitz, Isabella Zisman
  • Melting Ice (2nd Place): Caitlin Cahalin, Maya Ferchland-Parella, Drew Grinberg. Isiah Shechtman, Alec Zager

  • Oxidize Before Your Eyes: Josh Benbasat, Madiya Harriott, Theresa Sandbrook, Sam Oshinsky, Simran Rajani
