TRED Hosts Inaugural Federal Research Day 2018

Van Hipp, Chairman of American Defense International, Inc

The Office of Translational Research and Economic Development recently hosted its inaugural Federal Research Day for NSU Faculty Researchers on Friday, March 16 was held in the Center for Collaborative Research .  The focus was on federal agency research interests in biomedical, marine science, and cyber security.

Translational Research and Development welcomed everyone to the event. Opening remarks were provided by Van Hipp, Chairman of American Defense International, Inc. (ADI), a Washington, DC based consulting firm specializing in government affairs, business development and public relations.

Featured speakers included Lloyd F. Rose, Ph.D., U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command; John Winston, American Defense International, Inc., Michael Weise, Ph.D., Office of Naval Research; Michael Wardlaw, Office of Naval Research; Matthew Shallbetter, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and Dallas Hack, M.D., American Defense International, Inc.  Dr. Gary Margules, Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer gave the closing remarks.   Over 60 participants were in attendance.  The day provided a wealth of perspectives on various topics and trends in federal research.
