Sundstedt Named CollegeSwimming Div. II National Swimmer of the Week

For her performance over the weekend, CollegeSwimming has awarded Emma Sundstedt with Div. II Women’s Swimmer of the Week laurels.

In an overwhelming victory over Keiser this past Saturday, Sundstedt earned the first individual win of the day for NSU in the 1,000 freestyle, finishing in a NCAA B-Cut time of 10:00.49 and almost 40 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. The freshman from Hassleby, Sweden also went on to win the 200 individual medley in 2:09.31.

Sundstedt’s time in the 1,000 is currently the second-fastest time recorded in Div. II this season, behind her own NCAA record-setting time of 9:46.63, set on Dec. 18.

“Emma has continued to grow and train at a high level over the course of the season which has allowed to her to perform quite well in competition,” boasted head coach Benjamin Hewitt. “Her transition to swimming in intercollegiate competition has been smooth and she is continuing to keep her focus on this year’s NCAA Championship in Greensboro.”CollegeSwimming
