Student at Miami SEC Honored by Homestead/Florida City Chamber of Commerce

Daisy Benavides, an undergraduate student at NSU’s Miami Student Educational Center, was honored by the Homestead/Florida City Chamber of Commerce at a luncheon on Apr. 22 held at the Capri Restaurant in Homestead, Fla. Benavides, who is majoring in elementary education, received the Student of the Quarter award for post-secondary institutions.

Benavides works full time at Baptist Hospital in Kendall and is involved with Relay for Life and the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation, and is currently team captain for March of Dimes for Baptist Hospital.  Even with her active professional and community life, she still maintains a high grade point average at NSU.
