Spice It Up With Flamenco: The Art of the Dance, Presented at the Alvin Sherman Library at NSU on Oct. 18

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – Experience an up close and personal look at Flamenco: The Art of the Dance, as part of the Ferro Arts Live at the Library! interactive fine arts series.

The Flamenco festivities will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Alvin Sherman Library, Research and Information Technology Center at Nova Southeastern University, 3301 College Ave.

Flamenco: The Art of the Dance is free and open to the public. Learn to dance Flamenco and see a special performance by the Clarita Filgueiras-Flamenco Puro Dance Company, with live music by guitarist Luis Linares. There will also be children’s activities and prizes, with complimentary refreshments.

Internationally acclaimed performer Clarita Filgueiras is the founder and artistic director of the Puro Dance Company. She is a professional dancer, choreographer and teacher, recognized throughout the United States. She has more than 25 years of teaching and performing experience, and was awarded the Florida Individual Artist Fellowship in 1998 for Outstanding Choreography and Performance.

Flamenco: The Art of the Dance is presented by the Ferro Arts Live At the Library! Series, developed with a grant from the Charles P. Ferro Foundation.
