Slow Art Day

Saturday, April 12, 11 AM – 5 PM

Studies have determined that the average person looks at a painting for 32.5 seconds. In celebration of Slow Art Day, challenge yourself to spend 5-10 minutes looking at pre-selected works of art from the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions at NSU Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale.  Slow Art Day is the global all-volunteer, event with a simple mission: help more people discover the joy of looking at, and loving art. Why Slow? When people look slowly at a piece of art they make discoveries. The most important discovery they make is that they can see and experience art without an expert (or expertise), and that’s an exciting discovery! It unlocks passion and creativity and helps to create more art fans.  Come spend 10 minutes in the galleries and then discuss over coffee or lunch in our Museum Café. Docent highlight Tours available at 11:30 AM and 2 PM

Free with Museum admission.
