SHSS to Host Narrative Therapy Workshop, Nov. 19

The Consortium for Narrative Research and Practice in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) will host a Narrative Therapy Workshop on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the Maltz Building.

Presents include SHSS associate professors Paul Gallant, Ph.D., and James Hibel, Ph.D., along with doctoral candidate Marcela Polanco, who is also a graduate of the International Narrative Therapy Training Program.

The workshop will include exploring, demonstrating, and applying the ideas and practices of Michael White and the Narrative Therapy approach to clinical practice. Topics will include the application to difficult clinical issues such as working with trauma.

The cost is $15 for students and $85 for professionals. The workshop provides six Continuing Education Units (CEUs). For registration information, contact Gallant, at 954-262-3039 or via email at pgallant@nova.edu.

The Consortium for Narrative Research and Practice is a collaborative effort of the Departments of Family Therapy, Multidisciplinary Studies, and Conflict Analysis and Resolution. The Consortium is designed to provide multiprofessional training and educational opportunities in the areas of clinical practice, conflict resolution, community projects, social justice, and multicultural research. The Consortium is committed to developing and maintaining partnerships with its sister schools and community agencies by providing a focal point for people to meet one another in an inclusive learning and communal context.
