SHSS faculty receives 2010 Andres Nazario, Jr. Diversity Award from FAMFT

Martha Gonzalez Marquez, Ph.D.; Tommie V. Boyd, Ph.D.

Martha Gonzalez Marquez, Ph.D., assistant professor and associate chair  of the Department of Family Therapy at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), was recently awarded the 2010 Andres Nazario, Jr. “Diversity Award” at the annual Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy  (FAMFT) conference in Deerfield Beach.  This award is presented to outstanding individuals who have contributed to diversity issues in the areas of teaching, service, and clinical contexts. Marquez is the third faculty of DFT who has won this state-wide award along with Anne Rambo, Ph.D.  and Debra Nixon, Ph.D.  Each recipient successfully promoted diversity and social justice in their work with students, faculty, and within the community at large.
