SHSS Faculty Publishes Article on Peace in the Niger Delta

Mark Davidheiser, Ph.D., faculty in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR) in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) has written an article, “Demobilization or Remobilization? The Amnesty Program and the Search for Peace in the Niger Delta,” published in the journal African Security. The article was co-authored with Kialee Nyianyaa. Nyianyaa was a Fulbright Scholar from Africa who spent a year at DCAR studying conflict resolution, especially applied processes such as facilitation. Davidheiser served as a faculty mentor during his stay at DCAR.
Davidheiser is the founder and director of the Africa Peace and Conflict Network (APCN). APCN is an association of individuals and institutions dedicated to advancing positive peace in Africa through knowledge generation and dissemination and praxis. APCN has partnered with the West African Research Association and the University of Indiana Press to produce a new journal, African Conflict and Peacebuilding Review. Davidheiser is a founding editor of the journal which recently published its first volume.
