SHSS Faculty and Alum Present Workshops for Family Therapists

Judith McKay, J.D., Ph.D.

Martha G. Marquez, Ph.D., associate chair of the Department of Family Therapy (DFT), Judith McKay, J.D., Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (DMS) in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), and DFT doctoral graduate Roxanne Bamond, Ph.D., presented workshops for licensure renewal for family therapists on Jan. 21. 

Marquez’ workshop was entitled “Ethics and Boundaries;” McKay’s workshop was entitled “Domestic Violence;” and Bamond’s was entitled “Prevention of Medical Errors.” The day-long training was held on NSU’s main campus and was a collaboration between SHSS and the Broward Association for Family Therapy.

Martha G. Marquez, Ph.D.

Marquez’s research and teaching interests include work with couples, sexuality in relationships, supervision, ethical and professional issues, and culture and diversity. McKay’s research and teaching interests include family violence, public policy, transformational narrative, conflict resolution applied processes, strategic community planning, and organizational conflict.
