SHSS Alumna Named One of the “Top 100 Most Outstanding Women in Broward County”

Kate Campbell, Ph.D., graduate of the master’s and doctoral programs in the Department of Family Therapy (DFT) in NSU’s Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), has been named one of the “Top 100 Most Outstanding Women in Broward County,” by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County. The celebratory event was held on May 9, 2013 at the Signature Grand and benefitted the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County. Chris Burnett, Psy.D, associate professor in DFT and Campbell’s dissertation chair attended the event. Her dissertation was entitled, “Passionately Committed Marriage and Family Therapists: A Grounded Theory Exploration of What Works.”

In addition to her M.S. and Ph.D. from DFT, Campbell earned a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Relations with a Minor in Psychology from East Carolina University. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Florida Certified Hypnotherapist, a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), a AAMFT Approved Supervisor and a licensed Supervisor with the State of Florida Campbell. She is the founder and clinical director of Bayview Therapeutic Services in Ft. Lauderdale and also serves as President of the Broward Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
