SHSS Alum is the First Enrolled in new Ph.D. Program at University of Hudderfield in UK
Corey Malcolm, M.A. a graduate of the Master of Arts in Cross-disciplinary Studies (MACS) program, in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) ids the first scholar to be enrolled in a new doctoral program at the University of Hudderfield in the UK. The program is collaboration between University of Huddersfield’s Arms and Armour Research Group and its partners the Frazier International History Museum in Kentucky. The program is currently studying the weaponry recovered from the Spanish ship, the Santa Clara, sunk in 1564.
Malcolm is affiliated with the Mel Fisher Maritime Heritage Museum in Key West as the Director of Archeology. He has been actively involved in maritime archeology and this doctoral program will enable him to use the research and writing skills honed in MACS to forward this exciting field.
