SHSS Alum Appointed Visiting Research Professor at U.S. Army War College

Thomas Maytok

Thomas Maytok, Ph. D.

Thomas Matyok, Ph.D., a graduate of NSU’s Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), has been appointed visiting Research Professor at the United States Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, PA.  His role will be to undertake high-impact, policy relevant studies regarding the strategic environment, its principle strategic challenges, and the relative balance of national security ends, ways, and means to contend with them. Matyok will also support the War College’s teaching mission.

Matyok is an associate professor in the Conflict Studies and Dispute Resolution program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is the former director of the International Seafarer’s Center in Brunswick, GA and spent over 20 years in the U.S. Army.
