Sharks Show Strong Performance at SSC Championship

The Nova Southeastern University men’s and women’s cross-country teams completed the Sunshine State Conference Championship in Melbourne, Fla on Saturday morning. The men’s team finished third with 64 points and the women came in sixth with 132. 

Saint Leo men’s and women’s teams claimed the Sunshine State Conference title for the third year in a row.

On the men’s side, the Sharks were led by Christian Oppel (Gr., Lautertal Germany) who finished in ninth place with a time of 25:23.95. His top-10 finish landed him on the 2016 All-SSC Championship-Team. 

Anabel Knoll (So., Ingolstadt, Germany) led the women’s team with a seventh-place at 21:54.21. Finishing in the top-10 and gave Knoll her second straight All-SSC Championship-Team honor.
