 Kavan Thompson & Andres Visbal

The No. 5 Nova Southeastern University baseball team (41-16, 18-6 SSC) dominated the No. 4 Lander University Bearcats (43-15, 22-8 PBC) on Tuesday, May 24, winning by a score of 12-1. The Sharks collected 15 hits, including six extra base hits, highlighted by a Danny Zardon two-run home run. Alexander Kline earned the win, moving his record to 4-1 on the year. The highlight of the game came when Kavan Thompson robbed a home run in the bottom of the fifth inning, taking the wind right out Lander’s sail.

After allowing a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning, Kline settled in to throw five scoreless innings before turning the ball over to Steven Fleming and Joe DiBenedetto who sealed the deal for the Sharks. Kline received all the run support he needed, as the Sharks put up four, two and six runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, respectively.
