Law Center AcademicFest, Nov. 4

The Shepard Broad Law Center is pleased to invite you to the fourth  in a series of Academic Fests scheduled to take place in 2010-2012.

Friday, November 4

1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

NSU faculty and staff are invited to meet at the Law Center for a late lunch to learn more about its programs, and to attend one of these presentations:

Intercollegiate Mock Appellate Argument – Have you ever seen an appellate argument? Sit in our courtroom and experience first-hand an oral argument presented by one of our student intercollegiate competition teams, argued before faculty judges who will question them just as they would be questioned in competition or in an appellate court

Mock Law Class– Experience the dynamics of what it is like to be a law student undergoing Socratic questioning as the class explores the identification of key facts, rules, and policy giving rise to a court’s decision.

Thinking About Going to Law School or Advising a Law School Applicant? – Find out what our admissions office/committee looks for in an applicant.  Of course, it wouldn’t be as much fun if you didn’t try your hand at a few LSAT questions (You’ll be given three questions, covering logical reasoning, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension), and only you will know your score!

Shuttle buses will be provided from several main campus venues, the North Miami Beach Campus, the Oceanographic Center, and East Campus, but you must RSVP.

RSVP by October 28 and learn more here: www.nsulaw.nova.edu/events.

The concept of NSU’s Academic Fest series originated from the university’s Communications Task Force. Feedback from the Gallup surveys and the Chancellor’s Town Hall meetings show that NSU’s faculty and staff had a need and desire to learn more about our university. Academic Fest offers a series of open houses featuring specific colleges or divisions.

Future AcademicFests include:

  • HPD –  February 10, 2012 (Coincides with HPD Research Day)
  • Oceanography – TBD
  • University School – March 9, 2012
