Rocque, Solomon Named Law Center’s Adjunct Professors of the Year

Michael Rocque and Mindy Solomon were recently honored by NSU’s Shepard Broad Law Center as the Law Center’s Adjunct Professors of the Year. The honorees were selected by votes from the full-time faculty members.
Rocque has served as an adjunct professor at the Law Center since 1987 after receiving his J.D. degree from NSU. He teaches the Dependency Workshop, co-teaches Street Law with Judge Robert Diaz, and formerly taught and supervised the Law Center’s Guardian Ad Litem Externs. He is a sole practitioner in Fort Lauderdale and helped draft, and lobbied for, Florida Drug Court Legislation.
Solomon received her J.D. from NSU and has been an adjunct professor at the Law Center since 1996. She teaches Trial Advocacy and Advanced Litigation Skills in the Criminal Justice Clinic, and also teaches for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) program and has taught at Barry University. Since 1993, Solomon has served with the Broward County Public Defender’s Office and is the chief assistant in charge of the Misdemeanor Section. She is active in numerous professional and community activities, including vice chair of The Florida Bar 17th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee.
The 2010 Adjunct Reception and Recognition Event was held on Apr. 29 at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale.
