How to Make your Printer More of a Green Machine
Whether you are a student writing academic papers, or an employee producing important reports, a Dutch company has devised a new and clever way to reduce your environmental footprint and ink and toner usage.

Ecofont, developed by SPRANQ, is software that modifies the fonts on your computer when you print. It works by inserting small holes in the letters that don’t get filled with ink. The holes are so small, they don’t affect legibility and are only visible if the font is blown up very large. The Ecofont website claims that this method of printing generally enables you to save up to 25% of ink or toner. Also, if you’re not bound to a standard font for your printing needs, you can download and use a Vera Sans Ecofont typeface for free here.
