Pharmacy Professor receives Leadership and Service Award

Barry A. Bleidt, Ph.D.

The NSU College of Pharmacy extends congratulations to Barry A. Bleidt, Ph.D., Pharm.D., R.Ph., professor, sociobehavioral & administrative pharmacy. Bleidt was the recipient of the Nigerian Association of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in the Americas (NAPPSA) Leadership & Service Award during the organization’s Annual Scientific Conference & Exposition recently held in Philadelphia.

NAPPSA is an umbrella organization of Nigerian pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists, allied scientists and the academia in the Americas. Its mission is to promote healthy living and disease prevention through effective pharmaceutical care and facilitation of efficient healthcare delivery systems and strategies in America, Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world. “NAPPSA thrives on the dedication of a number of exceptional individuals like Bleidt,” said Ruth Awosika, member of the NAPPSA Board of Trustees. “He has been instrumental ever since the inception of (NAPPSA) and we applaud his ever so humble and giving heart. Bleidt’s commitment to the fight against health disparities both here in America and globally is commendable, and he truly embodies the fundamentals of extraordinary leadership and service.”
