Office of Academic Services Hosts Third Annual Tutor Recognition Ceremony

The Office of Academic Services hosted its third annual Tutor Recognition Ceremony to recognize and celebrate the invaluable work of 30 NSU peer and professional tutors.

In celebration of those who help NSU students succeed in their studies each day, the Office of Academic Services (OAS), part of the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, hosted its third annual Tutor Recognition Ceremony on Apr. 19. The ceremony recognizes the invaluable work of peer and professional tutors from OAS.

Those receiving recognition during the ceremony included math/science tutors Kurshaad Cheenibass, Maliha Fatima, Max Itkin, Sarah McCourt, Du Nguyen, Kenrick Raza, Fatima Taher, Trinidad Samaniego, Kodi Stevens, and Dorothy Simmons; and writing tutors Mindy Blum, Jenny Brain, Marissa Cohen, Racquel Fagon, Samantha Koeppel, Rita Martinez, Louisa Ogle, Karen Ryan, Lindsay Timari, Emma Trelles, Virginia Wells, and Matthew Williamson.

Student tutors who are graduating from the college and/or pursuing further education also received special recognition at the event. These individuals are Debbie Ali, Alyssa Baet, Brandy Benesch, Charles Cevallos, Sonya Chacko, Adailys Trincado, Micah Moreno, and Ed Reardon.

The Office of Academic Services, located in the Parker Building, suite 100, provides a variety of amenities to undergraduate students. In addition to tutoring sessions, these resources include success coaching, study areas for reserve, academic CDs for checkout, computer rooms, solution manuals, APA and MLA guidebooks, grammar and study skills handouts, EyeQ speed-reading software, and testing for credit.
