NSU’s Graduate Business Student Association to Welcome Former Investment “Shark” Kevin Harrington

Kevin Harrington

Kevin Harrington

FORT LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla.– February 12,2014 –

Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Graduate Business Student Association (GBSA) at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship will host Kevin Harrington, former investment “Shark” on ABC’s Shark Tank and current chairman of As Seen On TV, Inc., on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

Harrington has been in the direct response business for more than 25 years and has long been acknowledged as the pioneer and principal architect of the infomercial industry. He has launched more than 500 products, resulting in $4 billion in sales, and 20 products that reached individual sales of more than $100 million.

As a part of the student organization’s community service projects, GBSA has partnered with the FLITE Center (www.flitecenter.org), a centralized facility in Broward County for dependent youth to learn the skills needed for independent living. The FLITE Center offers youth from foster homes a single point of access for services and support they may need for a successful transition into adulthood and the work world. This includes assistance with basic job training (resume writing, etc.), business attire, and some financial support. Representatives will be on hand prior to Harrington’s presentation to provide more information on the FLITE Center and to collect donations. To learn more about FLITE Center or to make a donation, visit  https://www.firstgiving.com/FLITECenter/nova-event.

Join GBSA and others as Harrington presents his winning strategies on how to turn ideas into million dollar products.

Time:              7 – 8:30 p.m.
Where:           Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center
