NSU to Host Start-Up Education Program Event, Nov. 12

NSU’s Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences, in collaboration with NSU’s Office of Career Development, H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship and the Alumni Association, is bringing the NSU community a special event – “Igniting Innovation with a Start-Up” (Start-Up Educational Program). The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12 in the Carl DeSantis Building, 3301 College Ave., Room 3000 (main campus.)

NSU will host a 45 minute panel discussion on local start up organizations followed by a meet and greet reception with the panelists presented by the NSU Alumni Association. The panel will seek to educate NSU’s undergraduate and graduate students and NSU alumni about the inner workings of local-start ups and positions needed within them. The event’s moderator is Brian Breslin, Founder, Refresh Miami and the panelists include:

• Amanda Anthony, Founder & CEO, FlyInStyle;
• Brian Brackeen, CEO, Kairos;
• Jose Lima, Founder and CEO, 71 lbs;
• Peter Pezaris, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Glip, Inc.;
• Heather Shcwarz Lopes, Chief Strategy Officer & Co-Founder, EarlyShares.
