NSU Program Helps Medical Students Communicate with Spanish-speaking Patients

Medical SpanishNSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine understands the importance of preparing students to practice with patients who speak Spanish as a second language. The College has incorporated Medical Spanish into its curriculum and is the only school that requires all osteopathic medicine students to pass a simulated exam in Spanish before they start clinical rotations. The program was featured by WPLG Local 10’s HealthCast, featuring interviews with Michelle Johnson, D.O., clinical assistant professor of family medicine, and students Brittany and Jaclyn Siegel.
