NSU Professor Offers Advice on What to do if Your Tires are Blown Out by a Pothole

A recent incident which involves a woman having her tires blown out by a pothole, left a feeling of unfairness regarding compensation to the victim.

Michael Flynn, J.D., professor at NSU’s Shepard Broad College of Law, spoke with Local 10 News about the woman’s situation and how FDOT should act in these given circumstances. Flynn mentions that FDOT can’t be responsible for every pothole, unless they are aware of them. Given that the claim the woman filed was the reason FDOT knew about the pothole, it makes it challenging to gain compensation for tire damages. Flynn suggests that drivers report road construction defects so they are on notice.
