Appearing on the “Steve Harvey Show,” NSU College of Pharmacy students/alumna Nayeli Montes; Nicole Hope, Pharm.D.; Ariel Jordan, Faren French, surprise their professor, Jaime Riskin, Pharm.D., BCPS.

Four NSU students appeared on the “Steve Harvey” TV show to surprise their professor with a huge thank you. The episode aired February 19, 2016.

Steve welcomed students from the College of Pharmacy — Nayeli Montes, Nicole Hope, Ariel Jordan and Faren French — who wanted to surprise Jaime Riskin, Pharm.D., BCPS, clinical assistant professor, and thank her for being an amazing mentor to them.

Professor4LRRiskin prides herself on helping mold the minds of future pharmacists, but last year, her passion almost came to a screeching halt, when she faced the terrifying diagnosis of a brain tumor. Fortunately, she survived the ordeal with surgery and radiation. Riskin joined Steve Harvey under the impression that she would talk about her medical scare, but what she didn’t know is that her students wanted to honor her on national television!

After her students thanked her on the stage, Steve gifted her with $5,000 on behalf of Green Dot.
