NSU Orlando Hosts Spring FAPA Conference

NSU Orlando Hosts Spring FAPA Conference .

NSU Orlando Hosts Spring FAPA Conference.

The NSU Orlando campus served as the setting for the spring conference of the Florida Authors and Publishers Association (FAPA) on March 8.

The conference titled “Book Marketing Sizzle” focused on ways to market and promote personal writing.  Keynote speaker Peggy Dekay, the author of Self-Publishing for Virgins, addressed various ways to write a book, as well as how to build a platform and create multiple streams of income.  One of the pertinent panel discussion topics was how to make social media part of one’s business plan.  Some of the most popular social media platforms—including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter—were analyzed and discussed individually, allowing the attendees to make the most of their professional outreach.

Amanda Stevens, a current student in the Masters of Speech Language Pathology program, and Charles Bridges, Ed.D., NSU Orlando alumni both had the opportunity to attend the conference and learned creative ways to integrate exposure into their business plans.
