Lovewell Festival of New Works Continues at NSU in August

This summer, as a part of the Lovewell Institute for the Creative Arts hosted at NSU, an impressive array of young adults have been working passionately to create thought-provoking, original theatrical productions.

On the first day of each of session of Lovewell workshops, not one word is written, not one note composed, not one move choreographed. From the very first word to the final bow, the participants conceive, write, choreograph, compose, design, rehearse, produce and perform a full length, original musical.

While the students are having fun researching, writing and staging these socially relevant artworks, they are also learning some of the most valuable skills in modern education – creativity, collaboration, synthesis, and critical thinking.

The upcoming Festival of New Works by Young Artists schedule includes:

  •  Junior Session Two (Preteen Production) on Aug. 3, 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. in NSU’s Don Taft University Center’s Performance Theatre.
  • Teen Session Two (Teen Production) on Aug. 6 at 7:30 p.m., and Aug. 7 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in NSU’s Don Taft University Center’s Performance Theatre.
