NSU hosts Distinguished Lecture Series Speaker, Manuel D. Medina

The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship recently hosted Distinguished Lecture Series speaker Manuel D. Medina, chairman and chief executive officer of Medina Capital Partners, Inc. He was also the founder, chairman of the Board and CEO of Terremark Worldwide, Inc., a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ until April of 2011 when Terremark was acquired by Verizon.

Medina was inducted into the business school’s Entrepreneur Hall of Fame in April 2014 and said he feels he has a duty to guide people and to give back. Speaking to a full audience at the Huizenga Sales Institute in the Carl DeSantis Building, he talked about his family’s humble beginnings, how his father drove a taxicab for sixteen hours a day. Medina discussed education, “I gained credibility by becoming a Certified Public Accountant.” Adding, when it comes to entrepreneurship, “There are no secrets.” He said the harder he worked, the luckier he would get. He shared advice such as being positive, keeping your word, staying informed, being humble, maintaining a sense of humor and most importantly, “Keep trying.”
