NSU Economics Expert Available to Explain BREXIT Vote

Dr. Albert Williams Can Put Into Context What the UK Vote to Leave the EU Means Globally

FORT LAUDERDALE/DAVIE, Fla. – With the history vote by the United Kingdom to leave the European  Union, many are wondering what this means to the global economy. We’ve already seen stock markets around the world react wildly to this vote, and many are concerned with the short and long term impact this will have.

To help explain what this means to the U.S. and world economies, Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is home to a Subject Matter Expert – Dr. Albert Williams – who can help media working related stories.

Albert Williams, Ph.D., is an associate professor of finance and economics in Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship.

Over the past 10 years, Dr. Williams has been facilitating MBA courses in managerial economics, managerial finance, international finance, and managerial statistics. He lectures for NSU in Florida, Jamaica and the Bahamas. He also lectures in economics and finance in the undergraduate business program at NSU.
Before taking full-time employment at NSU, Dr. Williams had been teaching graduate level courses in international finance, international economics, project management, global management, and international marketing at universities across Florida. In addition, he was teaching courses in economics, finance, business statistics, marketing and business research at the undergraduate level. He has also presented many lectures in finance, international trade, business ethics, competitiveness, careers in business, economics, and business statistics to students, public officers, and private sector groups, including farmers in South Florida and the Caribbean, including Belize.

In addition, Dr. Williams taught mathematics at the high school level for seven years. He has taught students how to think critically and solve problems in mathematics.

He was awarded adjunct faculty-of-the-year in 2006 by NSU’s HCBE and was awarded faculty-of-the-year for 2006 and 2007 by the Graduate Business Students Association (GBSA). Since 2012, he has received several awards from GBSA for service and leadership.

Dr. Williams was a commodity analyst at Restaurant Services Incorporated, the purchasing arm of Burger King Corporation in Miami, Florida. For five years, Dr. Williams was the chief executive officer of an agricultural marketing company in Belize. He managed the marketing of rice, both domestically and regionally as well as assisting in the marketing of sugar, potatoes, and red kidney beans. During this period, he also managed a rice processing plant and was responsible for the finances of the company. He traveled throughout the Caribbean and Central America to promote products for Belize. Prior, he was an agricultural economist with the government of Belize.
