NSU Criminal Law Society to Host Juvenile Violence Symposium, Oct. 8

NSU’s Criminal Law Society, along with The American Bar Association, will present the Juvenile Violence Symposium: “Blueprint for Change” on Oct. 8 from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Law Center.

The featured speakers are:

  • The Honorable Judge Elijah H. Williams, Circuit court Judge for the 17th Judicial Circuit
  • Michael P. Brannon, Psy. D., Co-Director of the Institute for Behavior Sciences and the Law
  • Michael J. Dale, Esq. Professor of Law at NSU’s Shepard Broad Law Center
  • Chris  Gowen, Esq., ABA Staff Attorney and Head of the Collateral Consequences Project
  • Maria M. Schneider, Esq., Assistant State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit, Broward County
  • Gordon H. Weekes Jr., Esq. Chief Assistant Public Defender, Juvenile Division 17th Judicial Circuit.

The event is free and open to the public. The legal community can receive 3.5 CLE (continuing legal education) credits for their attendance.  The symposium will be held in the large lecture hall at NSU’s Shepard Broad Law Center, 3305 College Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33314.
