NSU College of Pharmacy Alumna Receives Distinguished Award

Ayala_Rivera_Kalumi_15PD_SJU_4x.jpgKalumi Ayala Rivera, Pharm.D., (’05), has been selected by the Colegio de Farmacéuticos de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Pharmacist Association), as the recipient of the 2015 Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award. This award acknowledges young pharmacists for their individual excellence and outstanding contributions to the pharmacy association and the community. The annual accolade is presented by Pharmacists Mutual Companies and is awarded in each state.

Ayala Rivera is the first NSU College of Pharmacy entry-level alumnus to receive this awardShe will be recognized during a special ceremony at Colegio de Farmacéuticos de Puerto Rico’s annual meeting on Thursday, August 20, 2015.

“Our College of Pharmacy is shining in the island and I am extremely proud of, our alumna, Dr. Ayala Rivera, as well as our faculty and our students,” said Blanca I. Ortiz, Pharm.D., assistant dean, NSU’s College of Pharmacy, Puerto Rico Campus.
