Steven I. Kaltman, DMD, M.D., professor and chair, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Assistant Dean for Extramural and Hospital Affairs, College of Dental Medicine, was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) on October 22, 2017 at its annual meeting in San Diego, CA.  The American College of Surgeons admits to its Fellowship only those surgeons whose professional activity is devoted to surgical practice and who agree without compromise to practice by the professional and ethical standards of the College.  This surgical accomplishment is rare among those who practice oral and maxillofacial surgery and recognizes Dr. Kaltman’s outstanding contributions as an educator and scientist, as well as his expertise as a surgeon and mentor.
