NSU Chapter of the Alpha Eta Society recognizes National Allied Health Professions Week

aaChartered in Florida in 1975, the Alpha Eta Society’s purpose is to promote and recognize significant scholarship, leadership and contributions to the allied health professions.  Our motto is “Together We Serve” recognizing that health care is dependent on a team approach and every member plays an integral piece to quality health care delivery in the United States.    The Nu Sigma Upsilon (NSU) Chapter was established at the College of Health Care Sciences in 2009.  Our chapter currently consists of over 500 members and continues to grow every year.

Local chapter activities include sponsorship and participation in research day, awards ceremonies and teaching symposiums.

In recognition of the importance of the health care team, we would like to recognize National Allied Health Professions Week November 6-12, 2016.  This event honors the three million healthcare providers working in more than 80 allied health professions.  It promotes the celebration of allied health careers, which comprise approximately 60% of the healthcare workforce.

Take some time this week to acknowledge the allied health professions in your life.  Just look around the College of Health Care Sciences here at NSU, you will find:

  • Anesthesiologist Assistants
  • Athletic Trainers
  • Audiologists
  • Cardiovascular technologists
  • Health educators
  • Medical Sonographers
  • Occupational therapists
  • Physical Therapists
  • Physician Assistants
  • Respiratory Therapists
  • Speech-Language Pathologists
