“We are proud to take part in the You Can Play initiative at Nova Southeastern University,” said NSU Associate Director of Athletics/SWA Kelley Kish. “Our administration, coaches, staff, student-athletes and fans contribute to our inclusive and enriching environment. All Sharks are able to maximize their academic, professional and athletic potential, strengthen our institution, and discover the best of who they are and who they hope to be, without regard to their nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity or disability.”

NSU is proud of its diverse student body,” said Dr. Anthony J. DeNapoli, NSU’s Executive Director of International Affairs. “Our 1,230 international students come from all corners of the globe, and represent 106 countries in Asia, North America, Latin America, Europe and Oceana. We are particularly proud of our 71 international student-athletes who serve as outstanding ambassadors for their respective countries and help promote cross-cultural understanding and a greater global mindset among the faculty, staff and students on campus.”

ABOUT YOU CAN PLAY
You Can Play is dedicated to ensuring equality, respect and safety for all athletes, without regard to sexual orientation.

You Can Play works to guarantee that athletes are given a fair opportunity to compete, judged by other athletes and fans alike, only by what they contribute to the sport or their team’s success.

You Can Play seeks to challenge the culture of locker rooms and spectator areas by focusing only on an athlete’s skills, work ethic and competitive spirit.
