NSU Alumni Spotlight: Tara E. Levine, M.D.

Tara Levine

Tara E. Levine, M.D.

Tara E. Levine, M.D., lives in Plantation, Florida, and is a primary care physician with Deerfield Medical Group. She treats mostly geriatric patients for a variety of conditions, including hypertension, high cholesterol, and other chronic diseases. Her oldest patient is 106 years old.

Levine earned her bachelor’s degree from Boston University and her doctor of medicine degree from the University of Miami. During her residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, she received the Johanson Excellence in Medical Humanism Award. Levine credits the rigorous curriculum at NSU’s University School with helping her develop a strong work ethic. She was able to take multiple college courses as a high school student and develop her communication skills, which boosted her confidence. One of her fondest memories is having Jerry Chermak, now headmaster of University School, as her history teacher.
