NSU Alumni Spotlight: Fischler College Graduate Publishes Book

Brian Rick

Brian Rick

Brian Rick, graduate of the Abraham S Fischler College of Education (1999), recently published a book, Some of Dad’s Stories, a collection of stories about his father Henry, who served in Patton’s 3rd Army during World War II and whose tank was the third into Buchenwald Concentration Camp. He was honored as a Concentration Camp Liberator 40 years later.

In addition to “Some of Dad’s Stories,” Rick is also the author of “Leaving Home,”a short story presented to former Vice President Al Gore, “The Future of Transportation,” a special feature than ran in the Sun-Sentinel, and numerous articles about grief and coping with the loss of a parent. He is currently re-writing a Political Science Fiction novel set in the not-to-distant future.
